Winter Tree Trail with Friends of Botanic
Sat 15 & Sun 16 February, 11:00am –
12:30pm
Suitability: 18+

A guided walk around the 500+ trees in the Botanic Gardens, learn to recognise them without the visual clues of summer. Starting with the conifers – the sequoias, the pines, the recently discovered Wollemia and many others from around the world. We will collect deciduous trees that can be identified from their winter twigs and bark, and examine these in more detail in the warmth of the Bowling Pavilion where we can make use of lenses and tree identification books.
