Join Vincent J. McBrierty (MRIA, Emeritus Fellow of Trinity College Dublin & former Professor of Polymer Physics appointed by Ernest Walton, 1967), for a lecture on Ernest Walton, nobel Laureate. Ernest, along with John Cockcroft, became the first people to successfully split the atom in 1932. Accelerator-based nuclear physics has since grown into giant proportions in CERN and throughout the world. He remains Ireland’s only Nobel Laureate in Physics.
